Here’s a Wedding Dress… You Can Eat!
Posted by Anne Ohn on January 16th, 2010By now, we all know that weddings costs can be quite high. Thankfully, there are resources out there to help any couple do some of the work themselves to save some cash. There are also companies that provide more than one service, for example wedding photographers that offer cinematography and venues that provide catering. But, are brides ready go one step further and physically combine their wedding dress and their cake? No chance, but it’s a neat concept nonetheless.

The cake/dress was made by Lukka Sigurdardottir and is completely extraordinary. Though we probably won’t see a bride wearing her cake anytime soon (unless the groom smashes it in her face), it’s refreshing to see what inspiring things are being done with both cakes and dresses these days.
Got any crazy cake stories or pictures of over the top or inspirational cakes? If so we’d love to hear from you, feel free to post them in the comment section below!

Well, I’d never wear it, but I sure would eat a heck of a lot of it… Looks yummy
Looks like a confetti of different cakes stacked together. I would love to see how they made this – - and taste it!!
LOL.. So everyone at the wedding can get a piece of the bride!
Better hope she doesn’t fart in it.
that’s seriously what you think of when you see this dress? I happen to think it’s quite unique… and beautiful!
Meg B. would you really want to eat a cake that has been worn buy a sweating human being? I find that idea rather disgusting.
That’s amazing. I don’t see how a bride could ever wear that, but then again, I’m not sure it’s intended to be worn. Would be a cool cake to serve at your wedding though
She’s just standing behind it
I’ll not eat or wear a dress like that!
Looks to me like she is standing behind a rounded dome shaped pile of multicolored foam blocks smeared in plaster.
Sorry to say, but, food companies show wood chips and white glue to advertise breakfast cereal – why would this be any different? Food is terrible to work with, especially for presenting it to camera.
Well, of course it’s not a real dress cake. I think it’s just the idea of merging the two. Can’t you just appreciate it for that?
Sorry to say, but it IS different from advertising breakfast cereal. This is considered art. Fake food to advertise cereal is marketing and presentation; not art.
Don’t come around here no more.
(Too obscure?)
die Pinguine: That’s EXACTLY what I thought of! That Tom Petty song! Then they eat Alice’s dress which is a cake! Weird video…
she looks delicious!
Looks like the cover of Herp Albert’s “Whipped Cream Delight” album form the ’60s
I have to say that it isn’t even very artistically done. If it is possible to sculpt ice then why not also cake icing, rather than, as here, just roughly plaster it into a crude dome shape.
So, does the groom have to eat the cake before the honeymoon night?
