Probably the most thorough and complete iPhone app. The list of features is quite extensive starting with a Quick Setup System which starts with a countdown to your big day. It includes fully customizable to-do lists with budgets, notes and photos.
Their the ability to organize and keep track of guests and contacts with information including invite and RSVP status. You can even add notes such as any special meal requests or guests they are bringing.
There is a business locater to to find the nearest vendors for all your needs as well as an organizer to keep track of them all.

Wedding911 (Free) – iTunes Link
Brought to you by The Knot, this is a handy app to have. Essentially it’s your go to for any wedding conundrums you may have. There are loads of questions already posed with their answers at hand or if you’d like you can always ask a new question. The cool thing about this app is that it’s community based and you’ll get answers from others who have already gone through the exact thing you’re going through right now.

This is another wedding planner app. It was designed by a professional wedding planner and is a very good companion to have. It will help you keep track of everything during the entire planning process. It has preset to-do (185 item) lists but you can also create your own.
You can track contacts, budget and vendors. There is also a good amount of information of wedding planning including advice and tips with everything from getting started, the ceremony, the reception and all the way to the Honeymoon.

Thanks to Miss Scissors over at Weddingbee I found out about the quite impressive “The Wedding Book: The Big Book for Your Big Day” by Mindy Weiss & Lisbeth Levine. There are a lot of good wedding tips to be found out there but a nice book can be a godsend.
From Miss Scissors, “I didn’t buy this book initially because it didn’t look too exciting—it wasn’t hot pink, it didn’t look very fun, I thought it had a fairly cheesy title, and I just judged it by its cover. After buying about every other book on the planet, including every terrible one offered by The Knot, I decided it was time to look at some reviews. Let me tell you––it is the ONLY wedding book that I’ve used fairly religiously, and it’s the most comprehensive one I’ve found.”

Miss Oyster from WeddingBee has an interesting post on things she has learned while planning her wedding. From sewing to general organizing. You’ll want to check out the entire post.
I’ve always considered myself organized, but my army of spreadsheets, charts, graphs, and folders have shown me that I really can organize a huge event and simultaneously deal with the merging of household finances. It helps that Mr. Oyster is constantly telling me how impressed he is.

Why do I only have 3 photos of myself and my groom alone from our wedding day? Because I failed to plan, and you know what that means. I planned every single detail of my day. My timeline was to the minute, color coded and given to all important wedding slaves. I covered it all… from when each BM walked down the aisle, alternating from two doors to the outdoor ceremony, to when the toasts should start and when to have the desserts brought out. I covered every detail… or so I thought.

Zach & Carie before the ceremony
This was 9 years ago, I was just starting to transition my graphic design business into a photography business. I spent more time meeting with photographers and pouring over websites than any other vendor. When I found THE ONE (no, not my hubby, my photog), I felt complete peace. Utter trust. Ooooo – naivete. I really thought that he would completely handle the timeline of the photos. I assumed he would organize the group shots and be timely about it. I made sure we had a full 53 minutes after the ceremony for photos. I was wrong… and in a film captured wedding with only 320 some frames SHOT, out of the 250 some frames that he proofed for us, I have 3 images of the 2 of us. T H R E E ! They are within seconds of eachother and… well… honestly, I still get upset thinking about it so that is why I am dedicating my first BridePop blog post to the question all brides my face: to see or not to see?
